IV Site & Wound Care
Wound closure applications can include sutures, staples, and tissue adhesives. While some custom converting applies to sutures, needles and other wound closure devices, OEMs come to PDCI Medical for die cut or converted packaging and administration accessories to their devices (see also Clinical & Surgical Accessories).

For wound dressings, however, PDCI Medical is a critical supplier of simple dressings that require single or dual die cutting operations, to multi-layered components that utilize over seven different materials and converting processes. The range of materials converted is broad, including the more difficult-to-handle materials (i.e. hydrogels, alginates and biological dressings like collagen and artificial skin).  Your most sensitive materials are converted in a positive pressure, humidity controlled, class 1000 & class 10000 cleanrooms that are equipped with a state-of-the-art ultraviolet filtration system.

Our knowledge of conformable, breathable, long term wear medical grade films and adhesive systems will serve you well in designing your disposable or resealable bandages.  Disposable bandages can be engineered and die cut using the most modern technology in flesh-toned, low tack, water resistant adhesive films that bond well to the coated or uncoated absorbent material of your choice.

PDCI Medical assists with a variety of different wound care products, including die cut compression products to diminish the edema of certain wounds.  Some products are simple and straight-forward for die cutting, and others are comprised of registered, multiple layers, including island placed absorbents, a non-stick layer to the wound surface, and a lightly lubricated gauze.  Our high-speed, multi-station rotary converting machines can slit, die cut and laminate these layers in a single streamlined process, producing tens of thousands of units in a single shift.

Once your design is perfected, our FDA registered, ISO certified, cGMP facility can assist with every stage of your program: prototyping, converting, island placement, packaging and assembly.  Our long relationships with contract sterilization companies will result in delivering a complete and finished product right to your dock.
